Yes–you’ve read that right…we’re not going to find out the sex of the baby, which typically happens around this time! Many people were surprised to hear that I didn’t want to know, since I’m such a planner. I like my classroom organized a specific way, I organize the clothes in my closet by color, etc. I’m 1 of 5 kids, and I remember my mom always telling me, it was the one time in her life when she could truly be surprised. I guess people are surprised either way, whether they find out mid-pregnancy, or when the baby is born, but I’ve decided to wait until we meet Baby Walsh for the first time ๐
How Far Along? 16 weeks
Size of Baby: Avocado
Weight Gain: 6 lbs. since pre-pregnancy weight
Maternity Clothes: I live in athletic clothes during the week, but I’m loving my maternity jean shorts ๐
Nursery: In the process of cleaning out our guest room to transform it into a nursery.
Movement: Nothing yet, although some moms-to-be feel movement as early as this week!
Symptoms: My belly is definitely starting to get a little rounder and bigger!
Sleep: Like clock work, I’m up at 2:30 almost every morning to pee.
Cravings: Grilled cheese! I’ve been buying a loaf of Panera’s asiago cheese bread on Monday morning, and making grilled cheese sandwiches on it all week for lunch.
What I Miss: Having a nice, even Summer tan. This seems silly, but since pregnant women can’t lay on their stomachs, my front is significantly tanner than my back (particularly my legs!)
Best Moment This Week: Beginning to look at daycares….I know it seems early, but many places in Chicago have wait lists! We’re lucky that each of our moms will help out one day during the week, so it’ll only be part-time and while I’m still teaching.
Looking Forward To: Hearing baby’s heartbeat again at our appointment on Friday ๐
